Nose: Initial astringent notes but after the alcohol dissipates you have prunes, apricots, blackberries and raisons. Oak is evident, a fair bit of smoke as well as BBQ banana and fudge.
Palate: The initial astringent and peppery bite gives way to a growing sweetness. Overripe banana, apricots, blackberries and red currant jelly. Heat in the mid-palate as the astringent oak makes a re-appearance. A medium length finish leaves you with a warm, tannic and peppery oak that drifts into berries and a hint of red licorice.
